NIH Policy: Enhancing Public Access to Publications Resulting from NIH-Funded Research
On January 11, 2008, the NIH revised its policy on Public Access. The policy requires all investigators funded by NIH to deposit an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts (including graphs and supplemental materials) upon acceptance for publication. This is to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official publication date. The policy applies to any articles funded by NIH (in whole or in part) accepted for publication after April 7, 2008.
