Elizabeth Gilbert, MPAS, PA-C

Elizabeth Gilbert

I chose to work at Fox Chase Cancer Center after becoming a physician assistant because of the Center's reputation as a leader in cancer care and research. As a result, I have gained personal satisfaction in this position. As an active part of the medical team, I ensure that each patients' medical experience is individualized and special.

As a physician assistant, my patients know that I am specially trained to manage their disease symptoms, ongoing treatment and continued survellience of their cancer in conjunction with their medical oncologist.

I feel fortunate to have developed a bond of trust with each patient. I feel that this bond is enhanced with open and honest dialog regarding treatment options. I believe that through patient education, the mystery surrounding what to expect is removed. This, in turn, helps patients make better decisions regarding their care.

Cancer can be an overwhelming experience for all involved. My patients are confident that I will stand beside them and that we use all of our resources and knowledge to keep them well.
