Veda N Giri, MD

I believe that patients receive the best care by having a comprehensive evaluation in a receptive and understanding environment. With my background in medical oncology and translational cancer research, I am able to provide a unique experience to my patients with regard to the evaluation and treatment of cancer.

I joined the staff of Fox Chase in 2004. Since that time, I have been named the director of the Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment Program. I was appointed to the National Institutes of Health Prostate Cancer Genetics PDQ Editorial Board. At Fox Chase, I am an active member of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) as well as the Executive Steering Committee.

The American Cancer Society awarded me the Special Interest Award to investigate the role of DNA mismatch repair defects in prostate cancer susceptibility. In the laboratory, I perform ongoing research into the genetic, molecular and proteomic pathways involved in cancer susceptibility, especially prostate cancer.
