Colleen H. Erb, MSN, CRNP, ACNP-BC

My choice to come to Fox Chase Cancer Center was an easy one. The hospital has a national reputation in providing top quality cancer care. Working here allows me the opportunity to work with physicians and nurses that are experts in caring for cancer patients, making Fox Chase an ideal environment for any oncology specialized health care provider to work.
I have been a nurse practitioner in oncology since 2002 and have worked mainly with hospitalized cancer patients. In my current position, I follow patients with hematologic and gynecologic cancers from their first visit, to treatment and into the surveillance mode after treatment is completed. The relationships I build with patients and families are important and help me provide the best care for those patients.
Fox Chase is a wonderful place to practice oncology nursing. While providing the most sophisticated cancer care available, Fox Chase also fosters a family atmosphere. Our patients truly receive individualized care and are not treated as numbers. Our team approach to cancer care allows us to place an emphasis is on providing the most up-to-date and appropriate care for each patient.
Patient education is one of my priorities. I believe an informed patient is able to make the best treatment decisions and have better quality of life. Patients who understand their disease and know what to expect throughout their treatment may reduce some of the anxiety related to diagnosis of cancer. It is very important for patients to participate in making the treatment decisions that are best for them after learning what is involved and how it will affect them individually.
