Ovarian Cancer Awareness Quilt

The Fox Chase Cancer Center Ovarian Cancer Awareness Quilt was completed in September 2002 by ovarian cancer patients, their family members, friends, and staff. The quilt is made up of 36 blocks that each tell a story and symbolize relationships. Many are embellished with small mementos like pins, buttons, embroidered words, all representing the experience of living with ovarian cancer, or loved ones honored, or even those who are working each day towards prevention and treatment. This artistic tribute to persons touched by ovarian cancer was crafted to travel, in order to raise awareness at community events. FRAP staff accompany the quilt to hospitals, faith communities, and various outreach events to offer education about this challenging disease.
